Dear St. Joseph Catholic Families -
I have attached the plans for starting the 2020-2021 school year amid COVID-19 concerns. I want you to understand that these documents are fluid, and could possibly change, as I am receiving updated information on almost a daily basis. I want to reassure you that the St. Joseph Plans for Re-Entry are attempting to follow county, state and federal guidelines, while being practical about how schools really need to function. I also want you to know that your children's safety and the safety of my staff are very important to me and that all these decisions weigh heavily in my heart. Please know that I have an "open-door" policy and am always willing to sit down and discuss your thoughts and concerns.
I know you have already been doing this, but please let your children know that school is going to look a little different this year and that's okay. They certainly know what is KAHFOOTY (Keep All Hands, Feet, and Other Objects To Yourself), covering up when they sneeze or cough, and washing their hands thoroughly but we are going to also emphasize giving others their space. Practically speaking, asking students to stay 6 feet apart is not a reasonable expectation, so we will be asking that they practice staying in their own space or "bubble".
Thank you for all your support and trusting St. Joseph Catholic School to do what is best for children.
In Christ Who Strengthens Me,
Cathy J. Fuemmeler
St. Joseph Principal
