Our students are encouraged to think of those less fortunate with two service projects all next week, sponsored by second grade and student council.
Both service projects will benefit local families through the Chariton County Child Welfare Program. Second grade’s goal is for each school family to donate a pair of children’s pajamas while Student Council is hosting a food drive for the families.
Students in each St. Joseph family that donate pajamas will have a pajama dress down day on December 18.
The class that donates the most items of food will receive a movie & popcorn party. The class that donates the least amount of food will have fun dancing for the student body.
Last day to bring in food items is Fri., Nov. 17 and last day for pajamas is Mon., Nov. 20. Suggested food items include canned soups & stews with meat, spaghetti sauce, noodles, canned chicken & tuna, boxed pasta mixes such as mac & cheese, Hamburger, Tuna & Chicken Helper, canned fruits & vegetables, Jell-O, cereals, peanut butter & crackers, etc. Toilet tissue, paper towels, and Kleenex are also accepted. NO perishable food items, please
