STEM Curriculum

STEM Curriculum for PreK-8th exposes students to science, technology, engineering, arts, and math in fun and engaging ways. 

Art

Students are exposed to creative opportunities in various mediums and areas of self-expression which are further enriched with Art History and examples of accomplished artists.  Learn More >

Fundamentals of music are taught through experimental learning with hands-on activities that include singing, playing instruments, and moving to music. 

Students highlight what they have learned at two concerts per year, one at Christmas and one in the Spring.

Physical Education

Physical Education occurs twice weekly for each student.

Grades K-3 cover locomotor skills while Grades 4-8 play team sports, individual sports, and cooperative games.

Hot Lunch Program

St. Joseph School offers a delicious hot lunch program.  A salad bar option is provided on Fridays for students in Grades 3-8.

St. Joseph School's hot lunch program is mandatory, unless your child can provide a note from a medical doctor citing a specific food allergy. 

Personalized Approach to Learning

St. Joseph Catholic School offers one classroom for each grade with an average class size of 14.3 students. 

 

One Teacher's Aide supports PreK, and another supports each class as needed. 

Tradition of Excellence

In every grade level that tested, our students scored above the national average on the Iowa Standardized Test.
